Quetziquetl Angulo Alemán | Xochiquetzal Council
“Our work is about remembering—remembering the knowledge our grandmothers carried, and bringing it forward so our communities can heal and thrive.”
Founded by descendants of the Nahua and Totonaca peoples of Veracruz and Puebla, Mexico, Xochiquetzal Council is an Indigenous- and women-led nonprofit organization rooted in ancestral Olmec cosmology and oral tradition. The organization was created in response to the urgent need for culturally grounded, community-based care for Latin American and Indigenous families navigating birth, migration, trauma, and systemic marginalization.
With a vision to reclaim and affirm ancestral healing as a valid and essential form of care, Xochiquetzal Council provides full-spectrum doula support, traditional postpartum practices such as rebozo and herbal healing, community temazcal (sweat lodge) ceremonies, and healing circles grounded in cultural knowledge.
